2024 Scholarship Winners
Congratulations to Chase Cowden and Connor Blackwell who were named recipients of Horizon's 2024 Scholarship Award. Both high school seniors received $1,000 each to help offset the cost of college expenses.
Chase is graduating 5th in his class at Loyalsock Township High School, with an average of 100.2%. He is a member of his school's golf and tennis teams, Christian club, investment club, and National Honor Society. Outside of school, Chase is part of the Uptown Music Collective, and volunteers at Saint Boniface's Sunday School and Schick Elementary. He enjoys playing the piano and drums, hunting, photography, and woodworking. Chase plans to attend Penn State University and major in Aerospace Engineering. He hopes to someday work for NASA or SpaceX!
Connor is graduating from Warrior Run High School with a 92% average. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Concert Choir, and Student Council. Outside of school, Connor volunteers at the Watsontown Historical Society and Hunter's Heart and Hustle Foundation. His hobbies include drawing, playing guitar, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family! Connor plans to attend Bloomsburg University and receive his Bachelor's in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Spatial Analysis, with hopes of obtaining his Master's from Penn State.
