Horizon will reissue new MasterCard Credit Cards to all existing cardholders this fall.

Why are we issuing new cards?

These new cards will provide two new features for members:

  • Tap to Pay.
  • Digital Card Issuance.

When can you expect to receive your new card?

Members can expect to receive their new cards the beginning of September.

What should you do when you receive your new card?

  • Cards can be activated and used as soon as they are received.

  • When activating their card, members will be prompted to create a new PIN. This will be necessary to use your card for cash advances.
  • Update any automatic payments with your new card number.

Will my current card still be active?

The current card will continue to work until it is automatically closed out on October 23, 2024.

How will my Online and Mobile experiences be affected?

  • Any existing online credit card user profile will be updated with their new card automatically. Any settings like eStatements and/or Financial Institution Pay from accounts, for one-time or recurring payment enrollment, will transfer to the new card account.
  • After activating your new card, both cards may appear for a brief period when viewing your accounts through online and mobile.

How can I access the new Digital Wallet feature?

  • Existing MyControl users can add the card to their digital wallet by opening the MyControl app and by tapping the “+Add to ____ Wallet” button.
  • Users who do not have MyControl can add their new card by accessing their preferred Digital Wallet (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay) from the corresponding app on their phone. 

How will my automatic payments be impacted?

  • Automatic payments set up from within the Online Credit Card dashboard, will continue to be processed without error.

  • One-Time and Automatic payments setup within a Bill Pay platform will need to be updated with the new “account” number. (i.e. credit card account number).

Do I need to notify merchants of my new card number?

Yes, cardholders will need to update their credit card information to merchants for recurring payments or saved payment method such as Amazon, PayPal, streaming services, etc.

When will my old card expire?

Your old card will no longer be active as of October 23, 2024. If you have not received your new card by the end of September, please call us at 570-326-3636.
